No doubt religion for immigrants is a powerful element of strengthening identity and the desire to continue to show the symbols of their religious affiliation is strengthened when a person is an alien and often hostile environment. The religious symbols evoke a reality, another reality than the miserable and humiliating daily lives, and they have the power to unite many people otherwise condemned to survive in the solitude of dispersion and fragmentation of the migrant diaspora.
these observations are banal even ... and yet the anti-racist movement of native and European activists themselves "peak" of the movement of immigrants tend too often to ignore, remove or deal with such obvious embarrassment phenomena.
